P&P: Confidence

We all know that confidence is a fundamental trait that can open the door to a world of opportunities. Each of us has a wellspring of power within. When we are comfortable in our own skin, we exude a positive air that attracts and inspires others. Our voices matter. Our words matter. And we can reclaim them through effective communication. We can certainly step up and be decisive in practically any situation we find ourselves in.

What confidence looks like in the poised and elegant woman:

  • She doesn’t feel the need to make excuses or over-explain herself.

  • She assertively sets boundaries for herself, saying ‘no’ when necessary.

  • She considers herself equal to others— never above or below.

  • She does not engage in gossip and never feels the need to put anyone down.

  • She accepts her strengths and weaknesses.

  • She acknowledges her mistakes and sees them as opportunities for growth.

  • She graciously accepts compliments with a smile and a ‘thank you.’

The poised and elegant woman is a connoisseur of her own look.

  • She has her own “Power Color” and wears it well. (Colors can evoke specific feelings/memories and bring meaning to life’s experience.)

  • She dresses in clothing that create visual balance and enhances her assets, highlighting her unique beauty.

  • She is aware of her posture. She does not slouch when she sits. And she walks with assurance.

Wherever she goes, she owns the space she is in without feeling the need to be the center of attention. There is an element of mystery to her. She acts as if she belongs there because she really does! She doesn’t apologize for who she is.

And this ‘she’ we are referring to is (or can 100% be) YOU!
